A lot has been happening in the Whitehorse camp over the last couple of months. We had a killer show down in Tasmania thanks to our friends in Thrall, Ruins, Orannis and The Brisbane Hotel. We have been in and out of Sonorous Circuits working on tracks for upcoming releases and planning our next few months.

February will see Whitehorse play one of the last East Brunswick Club shows on the 26th (details TBC) as well as a Stutter event on the 16th details TBC

March will have us visiting Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane for the first time in over 2 years! Sydney and Canberra details below, Brisbane details coming soon:

Originally released on CD earlier this year via Sweat Lung Records to coincide with WHITEHORSE’s 2011 American tour, the digital version of the album is now available via all major digital stores. The deluxe LP format is in the manufacturing stages now and will be released in the coming weeks. For fans of Disembowelment, Khanate, Corrupted, Winter and the coldest slow-motion doom brutality will not want to miss this album.

Whitehorse have announced their first Australian show in 6 months. Also the first Australian show with member Dave (Ivens / Encircling Sea) in the line up and the first appearance with Dan (Nation Blue) behind the kit.

Along with all the above, this event will serve as the Australian album launch for the full length Progression CD and the split 7" with The Body.

To help with all this the great unholy beast has summoned the blackened minds of THRALL and HORDES OF THE BLACK CROSS.

The ritual begins 8:30pm at 284-286 Albert Street in Brunswick on July 16th. This event is ALL AGES, entry is $10.

Oppressive Australian sludge/metal unit WHITEHORSE have confirmed that they will release their latest album, Progression, on both 12″ LP and digital download formats to North America via At A Loss Recordings this Summer.

Progression was initially released early this year on CD by Sweat Lung Records, to coincide with WHITEHORSE’s 2011 American tour. The brutal venture took the band through a massive amount of the country, including several performances at this year’s SXSW as well as a full Southeast/East Coast tour alongside The Body, who they not only co-released a split 7″ with but who are also now labelmates with via At A Loss Recordings. At A Loss will release Progression digitally on July 5, 2011, and the deluxe LP vinyl format will be released later in the Summer; the lacquers are currently being cut at Chicago Mastering Service by Jason Ward, and a final release date will be announced shortly.

Whitehorse have returned to Melbourne and are taking in a brief break after 31 US shows. We return to Australia less one member, drummer Robert has remained in New York after tour to try his luck in the Big Apple. With all remaining members back in Melbourne, May will see us back in the rehearsal room working on getting to speed with a new drummer and writing new material.

WHITEHORSE tour begins in Arcata, CA on the 28th of February 2011. We are looking forward to kicking it off at The Alibi, in 2007 we had a great night there, good bar, good food and good people.

This flyer just came in for our 2nd show. The Funhouse in Seattle, WA where we played the 4th of July 2007 with Wormword, Iron Lung and Giant Squid. This time we will be shattering the atmosphere with Lesbian and Cross (members of Teen Chthulu and Wormwood). Meanwhile Iron Lung will be getting ready to lay waste to the East Coast of Australia.
