Whitehorse have announced their first Australian show in 6 months. Also the first Australian show with member Dave (Ivens / Encircling Sea) in the line up and the first appearance with Dan (Nation Blue) behind the kit.Oppressive Australian sludge/metal unit WHITEHORSE have confirmed that they will release their latest album, Progression, on both 12″ LP and digital download formats to North America via At A Loss Recordings this Summer.
Progression was initially released early this year on CD by Sweat Lung Records, to coincide with WHITEHORSE’s 2011 American tour. The brutal venture took the band through a massive amount of the country, including several performances at this year’s SXSW as well as a full Southeast/East Coast tour alongside The Body, who they not only co-released a split 7″ with but who are also now labelmates with via At A Loss Recordings. At A Loss will release Progression digitally on July 5, 2011, and the deluxe LP vinyl format will be released later in the Summer; the lacquers are currently being cut at Chicago Mastering Service by Jason Ward, and a final release date will be announced shortly.

For the past seven plus years WHITEHORSE has united members of Melbourne’s underground music community, enlisting members from the punk, grindcore, experimental, and noise scenes, to create crushingly heavy sludge-metal layered with electronics.
Having toured Japan, the United States and Australia, plus having released eight audio documents on a multitude of internationally-based labels including Sweat Lung, Sabbatical, Conspiracy, Blind Date, 20 Buck Spin and more, WHITEHORSE hit their most productive point in 2010, performing in support of several international visitors to Australia including Birushanah, Zeni Geva, Om, Lichens, Wolves In The Throne Room, Monarch, Nadja and Coffins.
Promos of Progression, as well as interviews with WHITEHORSE, will be made available to North American journalists within the coming days. Be prepared for more updates on this juggernaut act to be announced over the coming weeks.

A double CD collection of WHITEHORSE material released in support of their first US tour in 2007. Disc one contains the material from the Conspiracy 12" along with previously unreleased 22 minute epic The Unwelcome Return. The second disc is a remastered version of West Of The Sun / Oceans Turn To Black. (see below for further details)
A live to air on Melbourne radio station PBS FM released as part of the Conspiracy 10 year anniversary 12" series. This is a one sided 12" with a 2 colour screen print on the b-side.
The third WHITEHORSE release lifted from video footage of the band's performance in Osaka.
Released in support of the WHITEHORSE tour of Japan in 2006 during which the band played along side Birushanah, Palm, Ryokuchi and Corrupted.
The first release on for both WHITEHORSE and the Sweatlung Label.
